Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in training on Friday.

The 25-year-old Frenchman has been out since November with a hamstring problem and had made his return from injury just three days earlier.

However, he was forced off during PSG's match against Rennes at the weekend, and it appears that his knee ligament damage has worsened.

Kimpembe has been one of PSG's most important players this season, playing a key role in their run to the Champions League semi-finals.

He has also helped the team win back-to-back Ligue 1 titles, and is widely regarded as one of Europe's best defenders.

His absence will be a blow for PSG,Ligue 1 Express who are already without injured captain Thiago Silva and right-back Layvin Kurzawa.

But despite the setback, PSG have still managed to secure a place in the Champions League final, thanks to a strong performance against Monaco last week.

With Kimpembe out for the remainder of the season, there may be opportunities for other defenders to step up and take charge of the backline.

It remains to be seen whether Kimpembe will make a full recovery in time for next season, but his absence will certainly be felt by PSG and their fans.
