The Algeria international is set to become the club's highest-paid player after agreeing a contract worth around $12 million per year.
Mahrez has been heavily linked with a move away from City since he joined the club from Leicester City in 2017.
He scored 54 goals in 206 appearances for the Foxes before moving to the Etihad Stadium.
